4 Ways to Perk Up Your Patio this Summer

Is there anything sweeter than midsummer? Crisp mornings, warm nights and opportunity to spend more time outside. We hope you’re enjoying outdoor parties and evening barbeques as much as we are. Below are four ways to make your outdoor living space more comfortable and better for warm-weather entertaining.

The perfect outdoor rug

Sometimes a bold pattern or texture is best for tying in backyard greenery and vegetation. Many rugs are reversible so be sure to shop around – save time and start looking for inspiration at Wayfair or Home Depot. While you’re at it, pick up some outdoor throw blankets to stay cozy on cooler nights!

Brighten it up

Light your patio by hanging a chic chandelier overhead or by stringing white lights across an outdoor structure like a pergola or an archway. For a romantic feel, light pillar candles on tables, in vases, and in luminaria. Arrange draping plants like lysimachia, moss, or ivy between candles for an extra dreamy outdoor room.

Multi-use furniture

Furnish your patio with multitasking furniture. Your outdoor space serves as a place to relax, work on gardening projects, and socialize, so keep that in mind when buying pieces. For instance, the right garden stool is helpful when doing yard work but can also serve as a chair or a side table when entertaining.

Flower power

If you’re one to plant potted flowers, mix up your floral combinations, or try potting them in a new way. While there are no real rules for successful textural combination, it’s fun to be creative – pick a different flower and a new kind of plant and see what happens. Look for different leaf sizes, shades and types. Another easy outdoor hack we love? Succulents! Put them in pretty pots on the patio and watch them grow.
